It Doesn't Reduce Your Support Funding

If plan management is included in your NDIS plan, the NDIS provides funding for the plan management service separately from the funding you use for your disability supports.

What Does an NDIS Plan Manager Do?

An NDIS plan manager takes care of the financial administration of your plan. We receive and process provider invoices, make NDIS claims, pay providers, monitor your funding and help you keep track of your plan budget.

Self-Managed vs Plan Managed

With self-management, you manage provider invoices, NDIS claims and payments yourself. With plan management, your plan manager takes care of this administration for you while you retain choice over your providers and how your plan is managed. Plan management funding is provided separately when it is included in your NDIS plan.

How Do I Choose an NDIS Plan Manager?

You can choose the plan manager that suits you. Look at how quickly they process invoices, how easy they are to contact, how you can approve invoices and whether you can easily see your funding and spending. You can also ask your Support Coordinator, providers or other participants for recommendations.

NDIA-Managed vs Plan Managed

With NDIA-managed funding, you can only use NDIS-registered providers. This can limit your choice, particularly in regional and rural areas where some services may have few registered providers available. With plan-managed funding, your plan manager takes care of claims and provider payments, while you can use both registered and unregistered providers where permitted under NDIS rules. This can give you a much wider choice of providers.
